Primary ignition test:
This primary wave forms can be matched against each other to find which cylinder not working properly, such as miss fire, large spark gap, burnt points etc.
Using function of parade pattern can help match the against each other on one screen.
Secondary ignition test:
Scope pattern of secondary ignition:
In this wave form we can see firing voltage which around 5.9 Kvolts on all cylinders and burn time of around 1.4 seconds.
Here is a wave form of faulty spark plug with big gap, we can see increased firing voltage and shorter burn time. We can easily diagnose problem without removing any parts.
Here is a test with small spark plug gap, which shows that firing voltage dropped down. We done it on cylinder number two.
After we done all our tests we fit everything back to original places and ran engine for a few minutes to clean the spark plugs.
